Aratikaya (Raw Plantain) - 1 peeled

Besan - 1 cup

Chilli powder - 1 tablespoon

Baking powder - 1 teaspoon

Ajwain (Waamu) - a pinch

Salt

Oil

Methods/steps

Making Besan Paste and Plantains

  • Cut the plantains as shown and keep aside.

 

  • Mix besan, chilli powder, ajwain and salt in a bowl. Add sufficient water and mix well into a fine loose paste. Consistency of the paste shouldnt be too thick since we should be able to dip in plantains.

Making Bajjis

  • Dip the plantains in the besan.
  • In a pan add sufficient oil for deep fry.
  • Make sure plantain is covered with besan and add in the oil.
  • Fry till it turns golden brown.
  • Remove it and place on a soft tissue to absorb oil.
  • Delicious Aratikaya (Plantain) Bajjis are ready.
