Delicious cashew shrimp made with a fine blend of cashews and tomatoes.

Shrimp - 1/2 kg

Cashews - 1/2 cup

Onions - 2 finely chopped

Tomatoes - 2

Ginger garlic paste - 2 tablespoons

Chilli powder

Whole peppers - 1 tablespoon

Dhaniya powder - 1 tablespoon

Turmeric - 2 teaspoons

Salt

Oil

 

Methods/steps

Making Cashew Shrimp

  • Blend tomatoes, cashews, sufficient chilli powder, dhaniya powder, whole peppers into a fine paste. Keep aside.
  • In a kadai add sufficient oil. Add onions and pinch of salt. Fry till onions turn translucent. Now add ginger garlic paste. Fry till the raw smell leaves.
  • Now add the prepared paste and fry for 5 more minutes.
  • Now add the washed shrimp.
  • Cover with lid and cook under medium flame till shrimp is properly cooked and the gravy thickens.
  • Do not add any water since shrimp oozes out the water and this water is sufficient.
  • Cook well till the whole gravy is properly cooked along with shrimp. If cooked well shrimp gets a good flavor of the prepared paste.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve Cashew shrimp hot with rice or chapathis.
