Dondakaya (Tindora) - 20 slit into half

Onions - 1/2 finely chopped

Chilli powder - 1 tablespoon

Mustard seeds - 1 tablespoon

Chana dal - 1 tablespoon

Zeera - 1 teaspoon

Garlic cloves - 6 - 8

Salt

Oil

For Garnishing

Chana dal - 2 tablespoons

Red chillies - 5

Garlic cloves - 5 - 6

Methods/steps

Fry chana dal and red chillies in oil. Add these and garlic cloves and make into fine powder.

Take a pan and add sufficient oil.

Splutter mustard seeds. Add chana dal, cloves and zeera.

Add onions and fry them till they turn golden brown.

Now add tindora (dondakaya). Cover with lid and cook under medium flame.

Sprinkle water for each 5 mts and cook till dondakaya is deep fried.

At the end add the prepared Chana dal powder and serve hot.
