Moong Dal (Pesara pappu) - 1 cup

Rice - 1 cup

Water - 5 cups

For Seasoning

Zeera - 1 tablespoon

Peppers - few

Pepper powder - 1 tablespoon

Salt

Ghee

Methods/steps

Making Pongal

  • Wash moong dal (pesara pappu) and rice. Add water. Cook in a pressure cooker.
  • Once cooked add sufficient salt and mix well.
  • In a pan add 8 tablespoons of ghee. Add zeera, peppers and pepper powder.
  • Add the ghee to the prepared pongal.
  • Delicious Pongal is ready.
