Sooji - 1 cup

Curd - 1 cup

Salt

Water

Carrots - 1 tablespoon shredded

Onions - 1/2 cup finely chopped

Ginger - 1 tablespoon finely chopped

Mustard seeds

Chana dal

Oil

Methods/steps
1)
  • In a pan add and heat oil.
  • Splutter 1 teaspoon mustard seeds. Add 1 tablespoon chana dal.
  • Add sooji and fry till sooji turns light brown.
  • Now mix with curd.
  • Mix well and add little bit of water to get consistency equal to idli batter.
  • Add carrots, onions and ginger and mix well.
  • Keep the mixture for half an hour.

 

2)
  • Place the batter in idli stand and cook the same way normal idlis are cooked.
  • Delicious Rava Idlis are ready and serve hot with peanut chutney.
