Rava Idli
Description
Different way to prepare Idlis and no need of special preparations to be made ahead of time.
Ingredients
Sooji - 1 cup
Curd - 1 cup
Salt
Water
Carrots - 1 tablespoon shredded
Onions - 1/2 cup finely chopped
Ginger - 1 tablespoon finely chopped
Mustard seeds
Chana dal
Oil
Methods/steps
1)
- In a pan add and heat oil.
- Splutter 1 teaspoon mustard seeds. Add 1 tablespoon chana dal.
- Add sooji and fry till sooji turns light brown.
- Now mix with curd.
- Mix well and add little bit of water to get consistency equal to idli batter.
- Add carrots, onions and ginger and mix well.
- Keep the mixture for half an hour.

2)
- Place the batter in idli stand and cook the same way normal idlis are cooked.
- Delicious Rava Idlis are ready and serve hot with peanut chutney.
