Vegetable sherva

Vegetable sherva can be had as it is or it can be used in other curries to get a special aroma and taste.

Onions - 2 finely chopped

Chillies - 8 slit into halves

Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tablespoon

Tomatoes - 1

Curd - 1 cup

Chilli powder

Dhaniya powder

Turmeric

Salt

Oil

Garam masala powder (Grind into fine powder)

Poppy seeds - 1 tablespoon

Channa dal- 1 tablespoon

Cashew nuts - 1 tablespoon

Shredded coconut - 1 tablespoon

Methods/steps
  • In a saucepan add two tablespoons of oil.
  • Add onions and chillies and fry till they turn golden brown.
  • Add little salt to let onions cook faster.
  • Add Ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell leaves.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and fry them.
  • Now add curd, sufficient salt and chilli powder, pinch of turmeric, one tablespoon of dhaniya powder and water. Mix well for 5 more minutes.
  • Now add the prepared garam masala powder and keep stirring till the gravy thickens.
  • Vegetable sherva is ready.
